Specifications

  • Machine tap for cutting internal metric threads
  • Standard: DIN 371, Form B
  • Form B: 3.5–5 thread chamfer lead with spiral point
  • Spiral point pushes chips forward: through-hole tapping
  • Reinforced shank, diameter equal to or above thread diameter
  • Shank with square drive for positive torque transmission
  • Thread tolerance class: ISO2 (6H)
  • Blue ring identification: tough and alloy steels
  • Suited to materials up to approx. 1,200 N/mm²
  • Single-pass threading in one operation
  • Runs on drilling machines, tapping machines, machining centres
  • Use tapping chuck with axial compensation on non-synchronised machines
  • Requires pilot hole drilling and edge chamfering before tapping
  • Cutting oil recommended, matched to workpiece material
  • Feed rate must match thread pitch
  • Thread check with plug gauge after tapping
  • Applications: maintenance, mechanical engineering, mould and jig making
  • Suitable for small batch production
  • Supplied as single piece per size
