The V-COIL Thread Repair Kit M 39 x 4.0 – 1.5D is a complete solution to restore worn or damaged internal threads, reinforce softer materials and recover rejected parts. It creates new, strong and long-lasting threads ideal for maintenance, installation and small-series production.

How it works: First, cut a dedicated STI thread; then screw in a stainless steel wire insert (free running). The result is a durable internal thread—often stronger than the original.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Preparation: Drill out the damaged thread to the correct core diameter (see chart), deburr edges and clean the hole.
Cut STI thread: Use the STI hand tap M 39 × 4.0 with cutting oil; keep the tap perpendicular and feed evenly.
Insert coil: Screw in the V-COIL free-running insert with the inserting tool until flush or slightly below the surface.
Remove tang (if applicable): Carefully break off the drive tang using the correct tool.
Inspection: Check with a screw or gauge; clean the repaired thread.
