Specifications

  • Standard: DIN 371
  • Geometry: Form B, spiral point
  • Lead chamfer: 3.5 to 5 threads
  • Chip flow: pushed forward, ahead of the tap
  • Designed for through holes
  • Thread tolerance class: ISO2 (6H)
  • Cutting material: HSSE high-speed steel
  • Suited to non-alloy steel up to approx. 1000 N/mm²
  • Also suited to malleable cast iron and thermoplastics
  • Reinforced shank, diameter equal or larger than thread
  • Single-pass threading in one operation
  • Operation: drilling machine, tapping machine, machining centre
  • Compatible with axial-compensation tapping chucks
  • Requires pre-drilled hole and chamfered hole mouth
  • Cutting oil recommended, matched to workpiece material
