UNC identifies a Unified coarse inch thread used on inch based fasteners and must be matched to the stated thread series. The kit should be selected by the component thread, available wall thickness, and the required installation workflow. Confirm the mating part, prepared hole, driving method, and cleanliness before you load the tool or insert.

Step by step

1. Compare UNC 1 with the component drawing or the original fastener before selecting the kit.

4. Tap the receiving thread with the matching STI tap from the repair system.
5. Clean the prepared thread before the insert touches the component.
6. Drive the insert into the thread with the installation tool specified for the kit.
7. Finish the installation step by removing the tang if required.
8. Verify smooth screw engagement and document the repair where your process requires traceability.
