You use this threading tool to produce an internal thread in a prepared hole with controlled alignment. Hand tapping is useful for repair work, prototyping, and controlled cutting in short runs.
Select the correct thread designation and ensure that the pre hole and chamfer preparation match the tool and material. BSW indicates a Whitworth form inch thread used on legacy British fasteners and assemblies. Left hand thread means you use the opposite rotation direction compared with standard right hand threads. HSS G indicates a ground high speed steel tool, typically used when you need consistent cutting geometry.
Note For consistent results, deburr the entry and keep the cutting area clean during use.
