Use this tool to create an internal thread for fasteners and fittings in metalworking and maintenance work. Hand tapping is useful for repair work, prototyping, and controlled cutting in short runs.
Tool alignment at the start influences thread straightness, torque, and final fit. BSW indicates a Whitworth form inch thread used on legacy British fasteners and assemblies. Left hand thread means you use the opposite rotation direction compared with standard right hand threads. HSS G indicates a ground high speed steel tool, typically used when you need consistent cutting geometry.
Note For consistent results, deburr the entry and keep the cutting area clean during use.
