The V-COIL Thread Repair Kit M45 x 3.0 – 1.5D is your essential tool for professional thread repairs. It allows you to permanently restore or reinforce damaged internal threads and recover rejected parts. The result is new, highly durable and wear-resistant threads – ideal for maintenance, assembly, and small series production.

What is a Thread Repair Kit? The system includes a special STI hand tap that cuts the receiving thread, into which a stainless steel wire insert is installed to form a strong, load-bearing thread – often more durable than the original.

Step-by-Step Instructions (Hand Tapping)

Preparation: Drill out the damaged thread according to the tapping chart, deburr and clean the hole.
Cut STI Thread: Use the STI hand tap M45×3.0 with cutting oil and cut the receiving thread vertically and evenly.
Insert Installation: Screw in the free-running V-COIL insert using the installation tool until it sits flush or slightly below the surface.
Remove Tang: Break off the driving tang carefully using a tang breaker.
Check: Verify the new thread using a screw or gauge; clean the thread surface.
