Precision Thread Plug Gauge - NPT 1/8 x 27 by VÖLKEL, item no. 16136, suitable for thread inspection and quality control.
The VÖLKEL Precision Thread Plug Gauge is a combined GO and NO-GO plug gauge for NPT 1/8 x 27 female threads. It provides reliable thread verification in line with international standards.
The reference temperature for parts and gauges is 20° Celsius. On request, VÖLKEL will issue a factory calibration certificate (price on request). Calibration is performed in an independent measurement laboratory using IAC thread scanners to the applicable specifications and standards (DIN, ISO, ANSI). ➜ Watch the video: Plug gauge – application
Use the GO side to confirm dimensional conformity; the NO-GO side must not fully engage. This ensures fit and function per drawing and standard.
Calibration is performed in a measurement laboratory separate from VÖLKEL using IAC thread scanners, following the defined specifications and standards (DIN, ISO, ANSI) for the respective specimen. A factory calibration certificate can be issued upon request.
Q1: What does GO and NO-GO mean?
A: GO verifies that the thread is within tolerance; NO-GO ensures the upper tolerance is not exceeded (must not fully engage).
Q2: Why 20 °C reference temperature?
A: Dimensions vary with temperature. 20 °C ensures comparable, standards-compliant results.
Q3: Can I use tools to drive the gauge?
A: No. Always insert by hand to avoid damage and false results.
Q4: Both GO and NO-GO engage fully—what now?
A: The thread is oversize/out of tolerance. Quarantine the part and rework or recheck.
Q5: How often should I calibrate?
A: Typically annually or condition-based when deviations occur.
Q6: NPT vs. NPTF—what’s the difference?
A: NPT typically needs sealant; NPTF is a dryseal design and may seal without additional sealant. Follow drawing/standard.
