1. Check that the core hole is drilled and deburred and that the entry is lightly chamfered.
2. Clamp the workpiece securely so the hole axis stays stable during threading.
3. Mount the first tap in a Tay quay taro and apply suitable cutting fluid to the hole.
4. Align the tap to the hole axis and start cutting with controlled torque.
5. Advance the tap gradually and reverse briefly at intervals to clear chips from the flutes.
6. Remove the first tap and clean the hole to remove chips and residual fluid.
7. Mount the second tap and repeat the cutting process to bring the thread to final form.
8. Remove the tap, clean the new thread, and check fit with the matching screw.
