Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare: Drill out the damaged thread to the STI core diameter, chamfer lightly and clean the hole.
Tap: Cut the new STI thread using the HSS-G hand tap M48 × 5.0. Apply cutting oil.
Insert: Screw in the wire insert with the V-COIL inserting tool until flush with the surface.
Break Tang: Remove the driving tang using a tang break-off tool.
Inspect: Check the new thread using a matching screw or gauge.
