V-COIL Thread Repair Kit, BSW 1" × 8 – 1.5D

The V-COIL Thread Repair Kit BSW 1" × 8 – 1.5D is designed for fast, precise and long-lasting restoration of damaged or worn internal Whitworth threads. The kit includes STI tap, inserting tool and stainless-steel free-running inserts — ideal for maintenance, service and workshop use.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Preparation: Clean the damaged thread and remove chips, paint or coating residues.
Check core hole: Ensure the correct STI core diameter. Drill if needed (drill not included).
Cut STI thread: Use the STI-Short Machine Tap BSW 1" × 8 and apply cutting oil. Keep the tool aligned.
Prepare insert: Mount the insert on the Inserting tool No. 23 and adjust the stop ring.
Install insert: Screw the insert into the STI thread until flush or slightly below surface level.
Break tang: Remove the driving tang cleanly using a suitable tool.
Final check: Test the repaired thread with a suitable BSW 1" × 8 bolt.
