1. Prepare the damaged thread: Clean the hole and remove chips, dirt and oil.
2. Drill the hole: Use the included STI Twist Drill 6.7 mm (00067) to create the correct pilot hole.
3. Cut the STI thread: With the STI-Short Machine Tap, ForD, HSS-G, BSW 1/4 × 20 (03203) cut the STI internal thread and clean the bore again.
4. Install the insert: Screw one Wire Thread Insert BSW 1/4 × 20 – 1.5D (08343) onto the Inserting Tool with Locking Ring No. 9 (08009) and wind it into the thread until the correct depth is reached.
5. Break off the tang: Remove the driving tang with the Tang Break Tool No. 9 (07009).
6. Check the repaired thread: Test the installed insert with the corresponding screw or bolt to ensure smooth running.
