1. Prepare the rod end with a chamfer and remove burrs to support a clean thread start.
2. Clamp the workpiece securely and mark the target thread length for visual control.
3. Mount the die in a suitable die holder and tighten the retaining screws evenly.
4. Apply cutting fluid and start the die square to the workpiece axis with steady torque.
5. Advance with controlled feed and briefly back off when torque rises to clear chips.
6. Continue until the required thread length is reached, then reverse out completely.
7. Clean the thread and verify fit with a matching nut or gauge.
