1. Preparation: Machine workpiece to core diameter, create a 30-45° chamfer and clamp securely.
2. Alignment: Insert the die (o/d 1.1/2) flat and centred in the holder, cutting face forward.
3. Cutting: Apply cutting oil; rotate approx. 1 turn forward, then ¼ turn back to break the chip; keep the die perpendicular.
4. Finishing: Cut to the required thread length, reverse the die, remove chips.
5. Check: Verify with a matching UNF nut or thread gauge; clean the thread surface.
