- Inspect the workpiece and ensure there is a clean lead in chamfer at the thread start.
- Select a Bàn ren ngoài (tạo ren ngoài) holder and clamp the die securely before you approach the workpiece.
- Apply cutting fluid to the workpiece area and to the die entry side.
- Align the die square to the workpiece axis and start cutting with steady forward pressure.
- Turn the die forward to advance the thread while maintaining alignment.
- Reverse briefly at intervals to clear chips from the cutting edges.
- Continue until the required thread length is reached and then stop the forward feed.
- Back the die off the workpiece and remove it from the holder.
- Clean the die and verify the thread fit with a matching part or a suitable gauge.
